Alot has happened since I last wrote on my blog. My life has absolutely turned upside down and all around. My daddy passed away on May 4Th early in the morning. Talk about a hard hit, I have not been myself ever since that day. I am not going to go into detail about his actual passing and how it happened or anything because it is too soon for me.
It happened on a Wednesday, I went up to Arkansas the next morning, that Thursday evening was his viewing (only Christy, Momma, Chandler, Caitlyn, KK, Haleigh and me went in to view him). Then the next morning was his service, it flew by and I feel as if I never even had a chance to actually deal with the hurt. Everyday just feels like I am going through the motions. Knowing that daddy was a christian really dulls and soothes the pain. It makes dealing with the heartbreak a little bit easier knowing that he is praising God 24/7 and seeing his face. His favorite song was "I can only Imagine" by Mercy Me....he does not have to imagine anymore. And the fact that I will see him again just makes my heart sing and praise God for giving him and me the opportunity to worship our Lord and Savior together again.
This whole experience has been very hard on the girls and me to swallow. We love our daddy more than anything and he was the best daddy we could have ever asked for. He did things that daddy's normally don't do or don't like to do....his girls were his pride and joy. There was not a time that he wouldn't take to brag on one of us. He would have taken a bullet for us, and much more. Most people would be absolutely devastated (not saying I am not totally heartbroken) but the fact that I had a daddy that most daughters DREAM of having...and not to mention a WONDERFUL friend also just makes this a learning and growing experience in my Christianity.
I can definitely say that because of his 'home going' I have acquired a relationship with my father and God that is unbreakable. Our bond will never be broken and it grows and grows everyday. I start my morning and end my day just talking with my father's that are in heaven. I have the best angels looking down on me. Every time I feel the sun hit my skin...I know it's daddy shining down on his baby.
"In the sea of grief, there are islands of grace, moments in time where you can remember what is left, rather than all that has been lost..."
I love you daddy, more than anything. You are my strength, determination, confidence, power, Independence, will power, and most of all my angel. I can't wait until the day I get to see you and kiss your face and tell you Ive missed you so much.
